Within the framework of regional efforts to combat cancer, we proudly acknowledge the participation of Professor Dr. Hesham El-Ghazaly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Cancer Society, in the National Sessions on Cancer Prevention and Control held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Algiers, Algeria.
Dr. El-Ghazaly, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Committee for the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health in Egypt and a member of the Scientific Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), met with the Algerian Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi. The two discussed avenues for cooperation and the exchange of expertise in combating cancer, as well as enhancing prevention, early detection, and treatment methods. During the meeting, Dr. El-Ghazaly reviewed Egypt’s pioneering experience in confronting cancer and the role of the Egyptian Cancer Society in supporting awareness, training, and the provision of locally produced medication. He emphasized that early detection and effective treatment are the key to hope for recovery from many types of cancer. The Egyptian Cancer Society affirms its full commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation and contributing to the transfer of scientific and medical expertise to serve human health in the Arab world.
